I've not made tofu. I have watched demonstrations. It takes days. The two main ingredients for tofu are 1) soy bean milk 2) coagulant The soy bean milk is made from dried soy beans. the coagulant could be gypsum or an extract from a seaweed -- those are the two that I know about. I've not attempted making tofu -- not even from the " convenience kits " -- because during the demonstrations that I say, it was important to have cool, dry conditions, lots of fresh cold water, proper weights and forms, and experience to be sure the tofu does not spoil while it is being made.
