Guest guest
Sesame Meal is used in many of Grogan's recipes, including the Eastern Baked Beans. kathleen * Exported from MasterCook * Sesame Meal Recipe By : The (Almost) No Fat Cookbook, by Grogan, page 47 Serving Size : 32 Preparation Time :0:00 Categories : Condiments *No Fat Cookbook Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method -------- ------------ -------------------------------- 2 cups hulled raw sesame seeds Sesame seeds may be high in fat, but when roasted and ground into meal, a little goes a long way. Sprinkle lightly on top of pasta, casseroles, and vegetables. I make up this amount every so often and keep it in the freezer so that I always have it on hand. Place the seeds in a heavy, dry skillet over high heat. Stir constantly until the seeds turn golden-beige and start to pop. Remove them from the heat, and pour them into a blender and blend at high speed, stopping to stir from the bottom a few times, until the consistency of a fine meal, (but not a paste.) Keep in a covered container in the freezer.
