Ramkumari,

Depending on where in India you live, you might not get any of the 3

items.

• Rutabaga are similar to turnips. Turnips are white, round with a

little purple around the top. Rutabaga are more yellowish, often a

little bit oblong and have some purple around the crown as well. Both

are root vegetables and are delicious. As a matter of fact, I had some

for lunch yesterday. I have made a Gujurati dish with turnips, which I

learned from a Gujurati friend, so if you live in that area or Northern

India you will have a good chance to find those rood vegetables.

• Tofu is bean curd. You will find it only if you live in a bigger city,

where you have stores catering to a Chinese population. If you are not

vegan and eat dairy products, you may substitute with paneer, which of

course is widely available everywhere in India.

• Shiitake are bigger mushrooms, extensively used in Japanese and

Chinese cooking. Again, if you have Chinese people where you live, look

where they shop.

I will try to find the Indian words for those items later tonight or

tomorrow and e-mail those privately to you. As far as the Pizza

Spread/Sauce goes, I let someone else post a recipe.

Warmest regards,
