Jamie, Kasha is another word for Buckwheat. In Jewish,

we call it Kasha. My grandparents called it kasha but

it is buckwheat. So, buy buckwheat groats and follow

the directions for cooking them. I am not particularly

thrilled with the taste or smell of kasha. I don't

cook it. My mom loves it and so does my DH but I hate

it. Just not my taste!

So, look in health food stores and in some

supermarkets in the cereal area. It is called

Buckwheat Groats.

Jamie,

it's an acquired taste. real earthy. more pronounced than buckwheat pancakes.

i think your intuition to use kashi pilaf on this recipe was a good one.

Still I'm always trying new things. look for small box.
