Guest guest
Jamie, Kasha is another word for Buckwheat. In Jewish, we call it Kasha. My grandparents called it kasha but it is buckwheat. So, buy buckwheat groats and follow the directions for cooking them. I am not particularly thrilled with the taste or smell of kasha. I don't cook it. My mom loves it and so does my DH but I hate it. Just not my taste! So, look in health food stores and in some supermarkets in the cereal area. It is called Buckwheat Groats. RisaG Send your FREE holiday greetings online! http://greetings. Guest guest
Jamie, it's an acquired taste. real earthy. more pronounced than buckwheat pancakes. i think your intuition to use kashi pilaf on this recipe was a good one. Still I'm always trying new things. look for small box. mho - pat At 01/03/2002, Jamie wrote: >ok.. > >if you don't like kasha with that recipe all, try the kashi pilaf- that was >great!!!! haha >i will try the kasha though.. > >RisaG [radiorlg] >Thursday, January 03, 2002 4:54 PM >veg-recipes > Kasha salada posted > > >Jamie, Kasha is another word for Buckwheat.
