Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method

-------- ------------ --------------------------------

1/4 cup butter

1/2 teaspoon asofoeteda

1 handful shredded lettuce

4 cups frozen or fresh peas

4 cups vegetable stock -- (1 liter)

cream (optional)

mint (optional)

Melt approx 1/4 cup butter and gently saute 1/2 teaspoon asofoeteda, a handful

of shredded lettuce and 4 cups frozen or fresh peas for about 5 minutes. Add a

litre of vegetable stock cook for around 15 mins, cool slightly then blend to a

puree.

You can add a swirl of cream for a bit of luxury. (asofoteda is available in

small boxes at asian food stores; look for " hing " ). Non-Hare Krishnas could add

a chopped onion at the saute stage. Also lovely with a bit of mint thrown in.
