Guest guest
This looks wonderful! I've kept haloumi in my fridge ever since I saw the recipes a while back! I love it! If you have a Costco (what I used to know as Price Club) they have a white cheese that would work well also (It doesn't have the hint of mint that haloumi does, but it's not strong enough to miss it). I can't remember the name, and I don't have the package anymore, but it was like a Queso Blanco kinda thing, I think it might have Caribe in it. IT's in a long block and is white. It gives ideas about frying it and using it in mexican dishes on the front of the package. I first tried it as one of those samples they have, and it's after I ate the haloumi for the first time, they had just pan fried it, and it's salty like the haloumi, and I've even frozen some (it freezes ok....it releases a lot of water after freezing, but still fried up fine.) Now if I could just save enough to try grilling! JJ
