Guest guest Posted November 20, 2001 Report Share Posted November 20, 2001 * Exported from MasterCook * Sloppy Joe's Recipe By :Steven Ferry & Tanya Petrovna Serving Size : 4 Preparation Time :0:00 Categories : Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method -------- ------------ -------------------------------- 1 1/2 cups TVP (ground beef-style) 1 1/4 cups vegetable stock -- beef-style 3 tablespoons olive oil 1 onion -- finely chopped 1/2 red bell pepper -- finely chopped 1 28 oz can crushed tomatoes 1 1/2 teaspoons sea salt 1/2 teaspoon pepper Combine TVP and stock in a pan, bring to a boil and let sit 10 minutes. In a saute pan, heat olive oil. Add onions and garlic, saute intil transparent and lightly browned, about 2 minutes. Add bell pepper and saute for another 2 minutes. Add TVP, saute for 3-4 minutes on medium low heat. Add crushed tomatoes, salt, and pepper. Simmer for about 15 minutes on medium low heat. Serve over your favorite toasted hamburger buns.
