Guest guest
Pat, my low carb book says if you are going to have some type of potato that the sweet potato is much lower on the glycemic index. An average potato is 85 on the GI An average sweet potato is 54 on the GI When it comes to carb, An average potato has 32 carbs An average sweet potato has 24 carbs So, if you are going to have carb, this is the way to go. This is according to The Good Carb Cookbook by Sandra Woodruff, M.S., R.D. She has a whole glycemic index in the back of the book.
