George Washington's Rice Waffles

1 cup brown rice -- softly cooked

whole wheat flour

1 pinch sea salt

spring water

 

When he was a boy, Washington's mother made the future leader of the

Republic rice waffles with native Virginian brown rice and whole

wheat flour. They make a delightful breakfast, snack, or dessert. Our

modern statesmen should dine so well!

 

Add pre-cooked or leftover rice that has been warmed to flour, a

pinch of salt, and enough water to make dough. Oil waffle iron, ladle

dough on top, close, and cook for 5 to 10 minutes or until done.

Serve with barley malt, rice syrup, or homemade fruit preserves.
