Ellen * Exported from MasterCook Mac * Grape Couscous Cake Recipe By : Amber Waves of Grain, Alex and Gale Jack Serving Size : 1 Preparation Time :0:00 Categories : Desserts & Snacks Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method -------- ------------ -------------------------------- 2 cups grape juice 1/2 cup spring water or apple juice 1 pinch sea salt 1/2 cup amasake 2 tablespoons agar agar -- heaping 1/2 cup whole wheat couscous This makes a purple, sweet, very cooling desert, resembling a cheese cake with a crumbly taste. Mix apple juice, grape juice, and amasake and bring to a boil with a pinch of sea salt. Add agar flakes and boil until they are completely dissolved, stirring occasionally. Add couscous, simmer 2 to 3 minutes more, and let sit 5 minutes while couscous expands.
