Guest guest
This is one of the most poorly edited cookbooks I've seen. For one thing, the number of servings is never given. Another good example is this Thanksgiving Menu lists recipes, yet the recipe names don't necessarily match the names of the actual recipes in the book. There is little standardization of how the recipes are presented, but the comments are excellent. Do take a moment to read them; I've put them in the beginning of the direction section. I'll post the recipes in this menu. There is no recipe for the Sweet Rice and Slivered Almonds, nor for the dulse. I'm not sure what he meant by " Deep Purple Dulse " -- if he meant just the seaweed by itself, or what. But I'll post a recipe for Dulse with Vegetables. Look for the succotash under Savory Succotash, the Cranberry Applesauce under Alice's Cranberry Applesauce, Mustard Greens under Mustard Greens with Onions, the squash or pumpkin pie under Squash Pie with Millet Crust, and Apple Couscous Cake under Grape Couscous Cake. * Exported from MasterCook Mac * Thanksgiving Menu Recipe By : Amber Waves of Grain, Alex and Gale Jack Serving Size : 1 Preparation Time :0:00 Categories : Holiday Menus Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method -------- ------------ -------------------------------- Smooth Red Lentil Soup Stuffed Squash Turkey with - Mushroom Seitan Sauce Rice with Sweet Rice and Slivered Almonds Cranberry Applesauce Succotash Mustard Greens Plimouth Plantation Boiled Salad Deep Purple Dulse Squash or Pumpkin Pie Apple Couscous Cake Apple Cider or Bancha Tea The first Thanksgiving meal featured a variety of dishes made with corn, squash, and beans -- the Indian's traditional staples -- and wild game and seafood. This menu is adapted from one we celebrated in Dallas, with each guest bringing a different dish. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - _____
