Bancha Twig Tea

2 tablespoons roasted twigs

5 cups spring water

 

Bancha is made form the mature leaves, twigs, and stems of the tea

bush. It is also commonly called kukicha tea. The twigs are usually

sold dry-roasted and should be kept in an air-tight container.

 

Add twigs to pot of water and bring to a boil. Lower flame and simmer

for several minutes. Place bamboo tea strainer in cup and pour out

tea. Twigs in strainer may be returned to teapot.
