This recipe for dried tomatoes makes a delicious and inexpensive alternative to the store-bought version. Feel free to use less salt if you prefer -- the flavor will only be slightly affected. Seed tomatoes and discard seeds. Place halves, cut side up, on large baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Sprinkle with salt, pepper, marjoram and basil.
