Add remaining fruit and process. Blend everything in a large pot. Cook slowly for 1 1/2 to 2 hours. Bottle and process in hot water bath. Assoc. : 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 * Exported from MasterCook * Green Tomato Mincemeat 1 Recipe By :Carol Floyd Serving Size : 1 Preparation Time :0:00 Categories : Green Tomatoes Pickles/Relishes Pies And Pastry Tried And True Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method -------- ------------ -------------------------------- 12 cups green tomatoes -- cored-7 pounds 16 cups apples -- cored-8 pounds 4 cups raisins 2 cups currants -- or more raisins 1 cup cider vinegar 2 lemons -- seeded 2 oranges -- seeded 6 cups sugar 2 tablespoons cinnamon 2 teaspoons nutmeg 3 teaspoons salt 2 pinches cloves 1 teaspoon allspice 8 tablespoons soft margarine 1 1/2 cups orange juice Grind tomatoes in food grinder, discarding about 2/3 of juices. Grind apples in food grinder, saving all juice. Grind oranges, lemons, raisins and currants, saving all juices. Combine all ingredients in a large pot. Cook slowly for about 2 hours, be careful it doesn't burn. It should be nice and thick with just a little bit of juice. Ladle into hot bottles and seal. Process in boiling water bath for 15 mins.
