Guest guest Posted October 12, 2001 Report Share Posted October 12, 2001 * Exported from MasterCook * Chick Pea Soup Recipe By : The Macrobiotic Way, by Michio Kushi, page 178 Serving Size : 1 Preparation Time :0:00 Categories : Beans And Legumes Soups And Stews Vegetables Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method -------- ------------ -------------------------------- 1 cup chick peas -- soaked 6-8 hours 1 kombu strip -- 6-8 inches long soaked and cut into 1-inch squares 1 cup onions -- diced 5 cups water sea salt Place chick peas, kombu, and onions in a pressure cooker. Add water and place cover on pressure cooker. Turn flame to high and bring cooker up to pressure. Reduce flame to medium-low and cook for 1 hour. Remove cooker from flame and allow pressure to come down. Remove cover and season with a little sea salt for a mild taste. Simmer several minutes longer.
