Guest guest Posted October 12, 2001 Report Share Posted October 12, 2001 * Exported from MasterCook * Fried Tempeh With Ginger Recipe By : The Macrobiotic Way, by Michio Kushi, page 173 Serving Size : 1 Preparation Time :0:00 Categories : Main Dishes, Vegetarian Soyfoods Vegetables Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method -------- ------------ -------------------------------- 2 cups onions cut into half-moons 1 pound tempeh cut into 1-inch cubes 1 tablespoon juice from freshly grated ginger dark sesame oil water tamari Heat a small amount of dark sesame oil in a skillet. Sauté onions for 2-3 minutes over fairly high flame, stirring constantly. Add tempeh and sauté for 1-2 minutes. Add enough water to half cover onions and tempeh; add ginger juice and cover skillet. Reduce flame to medium-low and cook for 25 minutes. Season with a small amount of tamari and simmer several minutes longer. Remove cover, turn flame up slightly, and cook until all water has evaporated.
