Guest guest Posted October 10, 2001 Report Share Posted October 10, 2001 * Exported from MasterCook * Black Bean Rice Recipe By :Wendy Esko Serving Size : 0 Preparation Time :0:00 Categories : Grains Legumes Soyfoods Vegan Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method -------- ------------ -------------------------------- 1 cup brown rice 1/4 cup japanese black beans (black soybeans) pinch sea salt -- per cup of rice 1 1/4 cups water -- (1 1/4-1 1/2) Wash beans and roast in a dry skillet until the bean skins begin to crack slightly. Remove from skillet. Wash rice, place in pressure-cooker along with beans, and mix. Smooth surface of rice and beans evenly. Add water and salt. Cover. Place on flame and allow to come to pressure. Cook 45-50 minutes. Remove from flame and allow pressure to come down. Remove rice as explained previously (see rice tips - NB) and place in serving bowl.
