Arame with Snow Peas and Sesame Seeds

2 cups arame

1 1/2 cups water -- to 2

1 cup snow peas

1 tablespoon sesame seeds -- dry-roasted

1 small carrot -- 1/4 cup

- sliced into matchsticks

1 1/2 teaspoons tamari soy sauce

 

Wash and slice the arame. Place 1/2 cup of water in a skillet,and

bring to a boil. Add the arame and water-saute it for 2 minutes,

stirring occasionally. Pour the remaining water into the skillet and

when the water starts to boil, cover.

 

Reduce the flame to medium-low and simmer for 20-25 minutes. Add

tamari. Place the carrots on top of the arame, cover and cook for 1

minute. Place the snow peas on top of the carrots, cover, and cook

for another 2 minutes. remove the cover and cook until almost all of

the remaining liquid evaporates.

 

Mix the arame and vegetables. Place the finished dish in a serving

bowl and sprinkle the roasted sesame seeds over it.
