Guest guest Posted October 7, 2001 Report Share Posted October 7, 2001 * Exported from MasterCook * Miso Soup Recipe By : The Macrobiotic Way, by Michio Kushi, page 178 Serving Size : 1 Preparation Time :0:00 Categories : Soups And Stews Vegetables Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method -------- ------------ -------------------------------- 5 cups water 4 shiitake mushrooms - soaked -- up to 5 stems removed -- and sliced 1 kombu strip -- 6 inches long 4 teaspoons pureed barley miso -- (mugi), up to 5 (adjust to taste) 1 cup fresh snow peas -- stems removed Place water, shiitake, and kombu in a pot and bring to a boil. Cover and reduce flame to medium-low. Simmer for about 10 minutes. Remove kombu, slice very thin, and place back in water. Reduce flame to very low; add pureed miso and snow peas and simmer 2-3 minutes longer.
