Pizza Margherita

1/4 recipe Pizza Dough

3/4 cup Tomato Sauce for Pizza

4 ounces fresh mozzarella -- thinly sliced

Extra virgin olive oil

8 fresh basil leaves

torn into small pieces

 

MAKES ONE 10-INCH PIZZA

 

This classic Italian pizza combines the timeless good flavors of tomato

mozzarella, and basil.

 

Preheat the oven to 500F.

 

Roll or stretch out the dough to make a 10-inch circle, place it on a

floured peel or pizza pan and let it rest for 10 minutes. Spread the

tomato sauce over the dough, leaving a 1/2-inch border around the

edge. Lay the mozzarella over the sauce and drizzle a little oil over

all. Bake on a pizza stone or in the pan until the crust is browned, 7

minutes, then remove and brush the crust with a little oil and scatter the

torn basil leaves over the top.
