Date Pudding Cake

Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method

1 teaspoon soda

1 cup dates -- chopped

2 tablespoons margarine

1 cup boiling water

1 cup flour

1 cup sugar

1 teaspoon vanilla

1 cup nuts -- chopped

 

In medium bowl, sprinkle soda over dates. Add margarine to boiling water and

pour over dates. Mix flour and sugar and add. Stir in vanilla and nuts. Spoon

batter into 8-by-8-inch pan. Bake 35 minutes in 350-degree oven. Serve warm or

at room temperature.
