Hollywood , California Serving Size : 4 Preparation Time :0:00 Categories : Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method -------- ------------ -------------------------------- 3 tablespoons margarine 1 onion -- finely chopped 1 large stalk celery -- thinly sliced 2 teaspoons curry powder 1 cup rice -- uncooked 2 heaping teaspoons veg " chicken " broth powder 2 cups hot water 1/2 cup currants or golden raisins slivered almonds or parsley -- optional Melt margarine in skillet. Add onion and celery and saute until tender. Stir in curry powder and rice; stir for about 5 minutes. Dissolve broth powder in hot water. Add currants or raisins. Add to rice. Cook covered, about 20 minutes. Garnish with slivered almonds or parsley.
