Guest guest Posted September 6, 2001 Report Share Posted September 6, 2001 * Exported from MasterCook * Hot and Sour Soup Recipe By :James Mays Serving Size : 0 Preparation Time :0:00 Categories : Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method -------- ------------ -------------------------------- 8 cups vegetable broth 1 teaspoon whole black peppercorns 1 1-inch piece ginger root -- unpeeled, sliced 1 cup firm tofu -- cubed 1 cup mushrooms -- sliced 1/2 cup bamboo shoots -- drained 1/2 cup rice wine vinegar 2 teaspoons sesame oil 2 teaspoons dried chile peppers 6 green onions -- sliced 1 red bell pepper -- sliced In a large pot combine broth, peppercorns, and ginger root and boil together. Discard spices, add remaining ingredients and simmer. Ladle over bowls of rice.
