Guest guest Posted August 31, 2001 Report Share Posted August 31, 2001 * Exported from MasterCook * Teriyaki Tofu Recipe By :Adventist International Cookbook, Debby Shabo Wade Serving Size : 8 Preparation Time :0:00 Categories : The Adventist Kitchen Series Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method -------- ------------ -------------------------------- 1/2 cup low sodium soy sauce 2 teaspoons honey 2 teaspoons minced fresh ginger root 2 cloves garlic -- minced 2 tablespoons vinegar 1 medium onion -- minced 2 pounds extra firm tofu -- sliced into 1/2 " slices 1/2 cup unbleached flour 1/4 teaspoon salt 2 tablespoons canola oil MARINADE: In a small bowl, combine soy sauce, honey, ginger, garlic, vinegar, and onion. In a shallow baking dish, place sliced tofu; pour on marinade. Let stand for 2 hours. Drain; reserve marinade. In a medium bowl, mix flour and salt. Dip marinated tofu into flour mixture, coating both sides. In a large skillet over medium-high heat, heat a small amount of oil. Place flour-coated tofu in hot oil; brown both sides. When all pieces are fried, reduce heat; pour reserved marinade over tofu. Simmer for 10 minutes; serve over rice.
