Guest guest Posted August 28, 2001 Report Share Posted August 28, 2001 * Exported from MasterCook * Chicken Morengo Recipe By :Adventist International Cookbook, Debby Shabo Wade Serving Size : 6 Preparation Time :0:00 Categories : The Adventist Kitchen Series Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method -------- ------------ -------------------------------- 1 12.5 oz can Worthington FriChik -- quartered 1/2 teaspoon salt 1 teaspoon paprika 3 tablespoons margarine 1/4 cup chopped onion 1/2 cup vegetable broth 1 cup fresh sliced mushrooms 1 10.75 oz can condensed cream of mushroom soup -- undiluted 1/8 teaspoon hot sauce 1/4 cup currant jelly -- see note* In a bowl, sprinkle FriChik with salt and paprika. In a large skillet over medium-high heat, melt 2 tablespoons of margarine. Brown FriChik; add onion and vegetable broth. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer. In a medium skillet over medium heat, use remaining 1 tablespoon of margarine to saute mushrooms for 2 minutes. Add mushroom soup, hot sauce, and currant jelly; stir until mixed. Pour over FriChik and heat through. Serve hot.
