I've formatted several from these paperback spirals (there are 3 volumes) - have

yet to try anything but the ranch dressing - but no amounts or # of servings are

provided - grrr.

Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method

-------- ------------ --------------------------------

3 quarts water

5 tablespoons onion soup mix

6 tablespoons chicken like flavoring

or

4 tablespoons Marmite yeast extract spread

1 1/2 cups water

1/2 cup nutritional yeast flakes or brewer's yeast

6 tablespoons onion soup mix

6 tablespoons chicken like flavoring

or

1/4 cup Marmite yeast extract spread

2 cups gluten flour

1/2 cup all-purpose white flour

Boil first three ingredients together.

Place 1 1/2 cups water, yeast, onion soup mix, chicken flavoring or Marmite in a

bowl. Mix together and add both flours. Mix gently with oiled hands, shape

into small pattes or balls (do not squeeze them or knead them too hard, they

will be tough). Gluten kritters more than double in size! Drop into boiling

broth, boil 35 minutes.

Refrigerate kritters in their broth when cool. Use in any reciped that calls

for meat. Chicken flavoring gives a fowl flavor. Marmite gives kritters a

bovine attitude. Kritters freeze great (in the broth) and leftover broth makes

a good soup stock or gravy base.
