Add cold water to make it hold. Chill one hour then roll out. It is also good pastry for vegetable pies. _____ * Exported from MasterCook Mac * Apple Pie with Rye Cheddar Crust Recipe By : Heart of the Home, Ann Jackson (1995) p38 Serving Size : 1 Preparation Time :0:00 Categories : Pies & Casseroles Fruit Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method -------- ------------ -------------------------------- 5 cups sliced baking apples -- to 6 cups 1/3 cup honey 1 pinch salt 1 tablespoon cornstarch or arrowroot Core and slice apples. Only peel them if you want to; it's not necessary though. Toss the apples with the honey, cornstarch, and salt. Turn into rye cheddar crust (see recipe) and dot with butter or margarine. Cover with upper crust and pinch sides together. Prick a few holes in the top.
