Gooey's Special

Recipe By : Heart of the Home, Ann Jackson (1995) p79

Serving Size : 1 Preparation Time :0:00

Categories : Soyfoods Sandwiches

Food to Go

Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method

-------- ------------ --------------------------------

2 slices leftover chicken fried tofu -- to 4 slices

- must be leftover in fridge for at least

- one night

bread

very thinly sliced raw onion

mayonnaise

tomatoes -- * see note

* If you're going to be eating this on the road, omit the tomatoes.

Toast the bread if you want and spread with mayonnaise. Add the

sliced onion, tomato, and tofu. This sandwich is so good, and I

really encourage you to try this recipe. The only hard part is this:

everyone, including me, likes chicken fried tofu so much, there's

never any left over. Maybe you should make twice the amount.

NOTES : Hitchhikers sometimes have strange hours and Gooey, being the

most famous hitchhiker of all time, is apt to have the strangest ones

of all. You may want to have this sandwich ready for her when she

gets home from a long, wet, five day hitch. Or, ready in a paper sack

for her to grab on her way out the door in the middle of the night.
