Apple, Sesame and Ginger Crumble

Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method

2 pounds apples; cored -- chopped into small pieces

1 cup apple juice

3 tablespoons maple syrup

2 ounces jumbo oats

2 ounces rolled oats

2 ounces oatbran

4 tablespoons sesame seeds

1 teaspoon ground ginger

1/4 teaspoon nutmeg

2 ounces diet sunflower margarine

 

1. Simmer the apples in the juice for 15 minutes or until the juice is absorbed,

adding the maple syrup towards the end of the cooking time. Once soft, place the

apple mixture in a baking dish.

 

2. In a saucepan combine the jumbo oats, rolled oats, oatbran and sesame seeds

and toast over a small flame, stirring all the time. Add the ginger and nutmeg

and work in the margarine until the ingredients are well combined. Spread the

crumble mixture on top of the apples and bake in a preheated oven at 375F for 25

minutes.
