Guest guest Posted August 15, 2001 Report Share Posted August 15, 2001 * Exported from MasterCook * Marzipan Carob Balls Recipe By :Eating with the Seasons by Paula Bartimeus Serving Size : 0 Preparation Time :0:00 Categories : Spring Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method -------- ------------ -------------------------------- 6 ounces ground almonds 1/3 cup brown rice syrup 2 teaspoons natural green food coloring 1 tablespoon natural almond essence 4 ounces sugar-free carob (bar) 1. Blend the ground almonds, brown rice syrup, green food coloring and almond essence together until ingredients are well combined. Form into small balls (should make about 14) and set aside. 2. Break the carob bar into pieces and place them in a heat-resistant casserole lid, suspended over a saucepan of simmering water. Allow the carob to melt. Roll the marzipan balls in the melted carob and place them on a tray lined with greaseproof paper. Leave to cool then chill. Enough to serve 4 to 6.
