Guest guest
I am a librarian, not an attorney. It is my understanding that recipes cannot be copyrighted because they are formulas and because it would be difficult for any cookbook author to prove that his/her recipe is original. The notes are copyrightable, but a certain amount can be shared as long as they are attributed to the author. Copyright law is complex and the digital world has made it more complex. There used to be a url on the fatfree website that pointed to an article in the San Jose Mercury that explained copyright and recipes, but the the last time I looked it was not longer there. The above comes from my memory of that article and from other discussions on the internet. kathleen At 10:42 AM 8/12/01 -0400, you wrote: >I am a new r to this list (and other such recipe lists), having >decided to gradually convert to a vegetarian lifestyle.
