Guest guest
Hi everyone, I'm a runner (and ofcourse a vegetarian ) and I'm wondering if there are anymore of you on this list who may have some advice for me... I also have to lose about 10 more pounds...) Anyway, I think my performance, my health and my weight loss have slowed or plateaud because of insufficient protein.. I'm definately not a low-carb high protein type of person ( I run- I can't do that) , but I'm looking for advice from veggie runners, or recipes for some higher protein meals ( prefereably lower fat) I guess over the summer it has been easy to eat grilled veggies and pasta and california rolls and not get much protein..- haha.. My nails are splitting badly, which i think may be a sign, I 'm recovering from a shin splint, and my weight is going no where ( likely due to the less running because of the injury) I added fish back into my diet a few months ago ( I know, i know- in hopes of reving up the metabolism and squeezing in more protein) but I have problems digesting anything other than tuna and I can only eat a small amount.. so I'd prefer to get easy tofu recipes ( requiring little cooking- it's too darn hot) or bean recipes I guess..( I like beans, I just get tired of too many bean meals a week) Its so hot I don't feel like eating anything but icecream- isn't that awful? any advice form anyone going through similar things? any high protein recipes? and I'd also love to chat with any experienced or even novice veggie-runners... I want to try to include a protein source ( a significant one) with every meal.. but tuna every day for lunch and protein shakes for breakfast can get boring.. don't let me get bored here guys- I have to fix this!! thanks! ps- I'm allergic to tomotoes & oranges.. ( i know i know..) I will do dairy and eggs- though I like to keep low fat in mind..
