Guest guest Posted August 9, 2001 Report Share Posted August 9, 2001 * Exported from MasterCook * Herbed " Butter " Recipe By : Vegetarian Celebrations by Nava Atlas, page 258 Serving Size : 10 Preparation Time :0:00 Categories : Sauces And Marinades Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method -------- ------------ -------------------------------- 1/2 cup reduced-fat margarine or tub margarine -- at room temperature 1/4 cup minced fresh herb of your choice -- up to 1/3 cup OR a mixture of herbs 1 tablespoon minced fresh chives 1 clove minced garlic -- optional dash lemon juice freshly ground pepper -- to taste Makes about 2/3 cup. Combine the margarine, herbs, and optional garlic in a small bowl. Sprinkle in the lemon juice and add a grinding or two of pepper. Work together with a fork until thoroughly combined. Pat into a crock, cover, and refrigerate until needed. Per 1-tablespoon serving: Calories: 37, Carbohydrate: 3g, Total fat: 2g, Cholesterol: 0g, Protein: 0g, Sodium: 2 mg.
