Guest guest Posted August 7, 2001 Report Share Posted August 7, 2001 * Exported from MasterCook * Roasted Garlic and Basil Tomato Sauce Recipe By : Serving Size : 0 Preparation Time :0:00 Categories : Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method -------- ------------ -------------------------------- 1 whole garlic bulb 1 small onion -- chopped 1/2 green pepper -- diced 1 tablespoon oil 1 cup fresh basil -- chopped 1 tablespoon Bragg's or 1/2 teaspoon sea salt 2 cans tomato sauce Place entire bulb of garlic, with peel iintact, in toaster oven for 10 minutes, until soft. In a skillet, saute onion and green pepper in oil (may substitute water). Saute until onion is translucent. Take garlic out of oven and peel. (It should be very easy to peel.) Dice it. Add diced garlic and chopped basil to saute. Add Bragg's and stir for just a moment. Add canned sauce (or 2 cans diced tomatoes).
