Guest guest Posted July 31, 2001 Report Share Posted July 31, 2001 * Exported from MasterCook * Tomato-Basil Sauce Recipe By : The Healthy College Cookbook Serving Size : 4 Preparation Time :0:00 Categories : Sauces Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method -------- ------------ -------------------------------- 1 teaspoon extra-virgin olive oil 2 garlic cloves -- minced salt and pepper -- to taste 1/2 can crushed tomatoes -- drained SIZE OF CAN - 28 ounces (whole/entire can) 1 tablespoon chopped fresh basil *This recipe calls for 1/2-can (28 oz. / 793 g) crushed tomatoes. After measuring half, freeze the rest for the next time you need them. Warm the oil in a saucepan over medium heat. Add the garlic and sauté, stirring continuously, for about 2 minutes, or until slightly browned. Season with salt and pepper. Add the tomatoes and cook for 10 minutes, stirring often.
