Although the flowers suggest stuffing, here's another way. Allowing three or four squash per person, separate the flowers and cut them into strips. Slice the squash length-wise into halves or thirds. Heat a little olive oil in a wide skillet, add the squash, and sauté over high heat. As soon as it begins to color and soften, add the flowers, a splash of water, and cover for 30 seconds. Season with salt and pepper to taste and scatter finely chopped basil over the top.
