Sauteed onions add much to simple foods, such as a grilled cheese sandwich or a plate of macaroni and cheese. Heat the oil in a wide skillet. Add the onion and saute, flipping often but letting them rest in the pan long enough to brown, about 5 minutes in all. Season with salt and pepper and serve right away - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Per serving: 147 Calories; 14g Fat (81% calories from fat); 1g Protein; 6g Carbohydrate; 0mg Cholesterol; 2mg Sodium Food Exchanges: 1 Vegetable; 2 1/2 Fat _____
