Guest guest Posted June 28, 2001 Report Share Posted June 28, 2001 * Exported from MasterCook * Parsnips and Carrots with Sesame and Maple Glaze Recipe By :Jane Sen Serving Size : 4 Preparation Time :0:00 Categories : Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method -------- ------------ -------------------------------- 2 large parsnips -- scrubbed and cubed 4 carrots -- scrubbed and cubed 2 tablespoons sesame seeds 2 tablespoons olive oil 2 tablespoons maple syrup 1 teaspoon tamari soy sauce (optional) zest and juice of 1/2 an orange Serves 4 to 6. Toss the carrots into a pan of boiling water. Return to a boil and cook for 5 minutes. Add the parsnips and boil for a further 5 minutes. Drain. Stir remaining ingredients gently into the carrots and parsnips. Turn into a roasting pan and bake in the oven for 20 to 25 minutes, until just browning. Works well with parboiled new potatoes too.
