Glad to have you back Kathleen - I hope that storm isn't headed toward Michigan, but I think all are- * Exported from MasterCook * Basil Broccoli California Recipe By :A Celebration of Wellness Serving Size : 0 Preparation Time :0:00 Categories : Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method -------- ------------ -------------------------------- 1 bunch broccoli 2 carrots 1 red or yellow bell pepper 2 celery ribs 3 cups water 1 fire-roasted Anaheim chile* or 2 tablespoons canned Anaheim chiles 4 garlic cloves -- pressed 1 tablespoon dried basil (or 1/4 cup fresh leaves) 1/2 lemon -- juiced sea salt and cayenne to taste Chop the first 4 veggies, and steam for 10 minutes or until tender. Puree in batches in a food processor using the water as neede. Transfer back to pot. *Toast Anaheim chile in oven until skin blisters (3 to 5 minutes). Remove and skin, stem, and seed. Chop flesh. Add to pot. Stir in spices, garlic, and rest of water. Simmer gently.
