A Garden Stew

Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method

1 yellow onion -- chopped

1 pound young green beans (frozen okay) -- cut into 1 " pieces

1 cup potatoes -- diced

4 garlic cloves -- pressed

2 tablespoons Dr. Bronner's bouillon (or 1 T soy sauce)

1 28 oz can chunky tomato sauce

28 ounces purified water (fill up tomato can)

1 teaspoon dried basil or 1/4 c minced fresh

2 teaspoons dried oregano

1/4 teaspoon dried grated orange peel

1/4 teaspoon ground fennel seeds

1/4 teaspoon red chile flakes

cracked black pepper to taste

 

Saute the onions, green beans, potatoes, garlic, and Dr. Bronner's in a heay

cast-iron pot for 5 to 10 minutes or so, stirring often.

 

Stir in everything else and simmer for 1/2 hour.
