Cheezy Sauce

Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method

3 cups water

1/4 cup rolled oats

1/4 cup nutritional yeast flakes

1/4 cup tahini

1/4 cup arrowroot powder

2 tablespoons lemon juice

1/8 teaspoon turmeric

1 tablespoon onion -- minced

or

1 tablespoon onion powder

1/2 tablespoon tamari soy sauce

1 teaspoon basil or herbs of chive (oregano, thyme,

and dill work well)

dash cayenne

1 garlic clove (optional) -- chopped

 

Put everything into a blender and blend until very smooth.

 

Pour into a small saucepan and heat until boiling, stirring with a whisk until

thick on low heat.

 

Description:

" A delicious " cheese " sauce that goes great on all sorts of foods;

from baked potatoes to macaroni and cheese. Use in any dish that calls

for a savory cheese taste. Easy to make, low fat, and quite

nutritious. "
