This hot cereal turns an everyday breakfast into a celestial experience! It

is one of the most popular food inventions I have ever come up with. It

tastes so good and is so healthy. I've made it for many of my friends and

always get a big thumbs up''! Quality breakfasts make quality days, and

quality days make a quality life!

The main ingredient is multigrain hot cereal, which you will find in

natural-food stores and some supermarkets, or you can mix your own. One of

my favorite combinations uses about 2/3 cup each rolled oats, rolled wheat,

rolled rye, rolled barley, and 1/4 ounce of flaxseeds.

Bring 5 cups of water to a boil and stir in the diced orange, diced apple,

five-grain cereal, raisins or currants, cinnamon, and salt. When the

mixture returns to a boil, stir in the sun- flower seeds and dates. Cover

and turn off the heat (leave the pan on the burner). Allow to sit for 10

to 15 minutes. Spoon into bowls and serve with milk and maple

syrup. Garnish with fresh apple slices, raisins or currants, and a

sprinkling of cinnamon. Holds up well under refrigeration for up to 7

days. Just microwave and enjoy!

For a refreshing variation, try our Fresh Fruit Syrup (see separate recipe)

as a topping instead of maple syrup!
