CranApple Crisp

Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method

3 tart apples -- cored and peeled

3 tablespoons lemon juice

1 tablespoon Sucanat

- or brown sugar

1 tablespoon cinnamon

1 cup dried cranberries

Crisp:

1 1/2 cups rolled oats

1/3 cup chopped walnuts -- optional

1/3 cup maple syrup

1 teaspoon vanilla

1/4 teaspoon salt

 

Slice the apples and spread them in a 9-inch square nonstick baking

pan. Sprinkle with lemon juice, Sucanat, cinnamon, and cranberries.

 

Preheat oven to 350F. Combine the rolled oats, walnuts, maple syrup,

vanilla, and salt. Stir to mix, then spread evenly over the apples.

Bake until the apples are tender when pierced with a knife, about 35

minutes. Let stand 5-10 minutes before serving.

NOTES : This was incredibly easy. Since there was just two of us, I

basically made a third of the recipe, and I baked each serving in

small Pyrex bowls. I omitted the walnuts because I hate walnuts.
