Grilling gives the slightly sweet stems a faint smoke flavor but still leaves them juicy. 1. Prepare a medium-hot fire in the grill. 2. Cut the stems from the base of the bok choy, wash well, and dry thoroughly. Brush with sesame oil. 3. Grill, turning occasionally, until tender, about 8 minutes. 4. To serve, cut each stem into 3-inch lengths or slice about 1/2 inch thick, depending on how you want it to look on the plate.
