Authentic Stuffed Cabbage

1 package Gimme Lean!TM Beef

4 tablespoon water

2 tablespoon canola oil

6 cabbage leaves (large outer ones)

2 med. onions -- finely chopped

1 small green pepper -- finely chopped

2 cups cooked rice

2 cloves garlic -- chopped

1/2 teaspoon dried thyme

1 can tomato sauce -- (15 oz.)

2 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce

3 tablespoon sweetener

salt and pepper to taste

3 tablespoon cider vinegar

 

 

 

1. Cover cabbage leaves with boiling water. Cover and let stand until leaves

are limp, about 10 minutes.

Drain.

2. In a large skillet, heat oil on medium heat. Add garlic and onions. Sauté

for 2 minutes.

3. Add green peppers. Continue cooking until onions are translucent.

4. Add entire package of Gimme Lean!TM Beef in small clumps to onion and

pepper mixture, and chop into smaller bite size pieces.

5. Add Worcestershire sauce, salt and pepper. Continue cooking over medium

heat until browned.

6. Add cooked rice. Add sweetener and vinegar to tomato sauce. Set aside 1/4

cup.

7. Add remainder of sauce to skillet; blend well. Place 1/3 cup Gimme Lean!TM

Beef filling at stem end of each cabbage leaf.

8. Roll leaf around mixture, tucking in sides. Use toothpick to hold together

if necessary.

9. Place cabbage roll seam side down in ungreased oblong baking pan.

10. Combine reserved 1/4 cup tomato sauce with 2 tablespoon water and pour

over cabbage rolls.

11. Cover and cook in 350° oven, 35-45 minutes.
