Guest guest Posted May 29, 2001 Report Share Posted May 29, 2001 * Exported from MasterCook * Marinated Onion Rings Recipe By :Jean Pare Serving Size : 0 Preparation Time :0:00 Categories : Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method -------- ------------ -------------------------------- 1 large Spanish onion -- sliced in thin rings 12 cups cold water to cover, approximately 1 cup granulated sugar 1 cup vinegar 1 cup water 1 tablespoon cooking oil Slice peeled onion as thinly as possible. A food slicer makes this a snap to do. Separate into rings and place in bowl. Cover with lots of water. Let stand for 1 hour. In small saucepan mix sugar, vinegar, water and oil. Heat and stir until sugar dissolves. Drain onions. Pour sugar-vinegar mixture over onions. Let stand in refrigerator, covered, for at least 1 day before serving.
