According to a recently published study (peer reviewed, Japanese scientists) in

New Scientist (a British Science Journal), one kilogram (2.2 pounds) of beef is

responsible for the equivalent of three hours of driving by the average European

car or leaving a 100 watt light bulb on for twenty straight days or 36 kilograms

(79.2 pounds) of carbon-dioxide.
