Guest guest
Does anyone know the grams of protein a 1 year old should be consuming per day? I think it should be about %20 of the childs calories....but I would like a ball park number. Diana >
Guest guest
Hi, my nutrition almanac says 1-3 yr olds should get 16 g protein a day. If you're interested in what this book is (I love it) it is called Nutrition Almanac, sixth edition by John D. Kirschmann and Nutrition Search, INC. It has detailed charts for the nutrient requirements of all age ranges, lists of foods that are high in whatever nutrient you are looking for, charts of the different requirements of all age ranges and gender, very detailed nutritional information for all kinds of foods, and a large section on what foods to eat to help combat various illnesses or problems (migraines, chemotherapy sickness, Sinusitis, etc.). It also goes into great depth of nutrient absorption, dosage, toxic levels, and such. I bought this book to use as a guide for feeding my one year old, so I thought I'd share it with you since it has been very helpful.
