I have two girls, an 8 month old and a 6 almost 7 year old. My oldest is super sensitive and decided years ago she was a vegetarian because she couldn't bear to eat animals. Thinking she needed meat to ensure proper nutrition, I would tell her chicken was called chicken the same way a computer mouse is called a mouse! It was just the name. I was riddled with guilt about lying to her, but she's very thin (40 lbs and 4'1 " ) and very active (in swimming, soccer, martial arts, and tennis). I was worried a vegan diet wouldn't be good for her. As I'm reading more and more, I'm finding that a meat diet is much less good for her. She's a little picky, and I'm not the best cook. I was hoping for kid friendly suggestions and also maybesome guidelines for how much of everything (carbs, fats, proteins) she needs. I really would love any help. I'm having a hard time finding professional medical advise friendly to vegan diets. My husband and I are finding the transition to be great, having more energy, etc. My concern is chiefly for my oldest, as I am still nursing my baby.... Thanks!
